Steel Fire Rebuild — Altadena & Palisades
Noncombustible steel framing as one layer of a wildfire-hardened home.
Steel studs are noncombustible: they don't burn or add fuel. That makes steel framing a strong base for a rebuild, but framing alone does not make a home fire-safe. Post-fire research on the 2025 Los Angeles fires found that survival tracked the roof, vents, windows, siding and the 5-foot zone around the house, with embers a common ignition source.
We frame the structure in steel and help your team plan the rest of the envelope around California's new Wildland-Urban Interface Code (Title 24, Part 7) and the IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home standard.
What's included
- Wood-to-steel conversion of approved rebuild plans
- Framing for like-for-like and expanded rebuilds
- Coordination with WUI-compliant exterior assemblies
- Local guides for Altadena and Pacific Palisades
How to start
Send your plans and tell us where the project is. Every steel frame is engineered, so we start by reviewing your drawings, not by quoting from a price list. If your plans are drawn for wood, see wood-to-steel plan conversion.
Next step
Have plans already?
Send your wood-frame plans and your address. We review them and explain what a light-gauge steel frame involves for your home.
