Address check
What rules apply to your lot?
Type a Southern California street address. We look it up in official public maps and show the CAL FIRE fire hazard severity zone, whether it sits inside the January 2025 Eaton or Palisades fire perimeter, who issues building permits and the energy code climate zone, with a plain-English note on what each means.
How it works
Three steps, all official public data
- 01
Find the point
The U.S. Census Bureau geocoder turns your address into a map point (latitude and longitude). The matched address is shown back to you, so you can see it found the right place.
- 02
Check official maps
That point is checked live against CAL FIRE's hazard zone and 2025 fire perimeter maps, LA County and Census boundaries, and the Energy Commission's climate zones.
- 03
Explain it plainly
Each result comes with what it usually means for a rebuild or new home, who issues the permit, and the official viewer to confirm it yourself.

What this tool is, and isn't. It reads the same public maps a permit technician would start from, at the point where the address geocodes. It is not a parcel survey or a permit decision: maps are adopted locally and change, a lot near a boundary can fall on either side, and the designation on your permit is the one that counts. Confirm with your building department.
